2010 / 2011 Winter Lessons

Children’s Tennis Lessons

Giving children the opportunity to learn tennis correctly from a young age is a great gift. TennisCamp.ca is now using a recognized coaching technique called “progressive tennis”, recently developed and supported by Tennis Canada for younger players. This program uses modified balls and nets that allow students the chance to develop proper strokes and advanced skills without the challenge of using full size courts. The program focuses on improving the fundamentals of tennis such as groundstrokes (forehand and backhand), volleys, serves and proper court movement. The game is played on portable courts which are ideal for school gymnasiums or public parks.  The best part of the program is that students can enjoy the game of tennis in a court that’s more suited to their size and skill level.

Each year TennisCamp.ca will now be offering two 12-week sessions to continue to build the game of tennis amongst the youth of the Orleans area. Our hope is to bring the fun from camp into a more focused teaching environment.

Competitive Training – TEAM

Our competitive program has been designed to maximize improvement in players who already have well developed shots but are looking to get their tennis game to the next level. The competitive program is personally run by Aaron Shaughnessy who will only be accepting a total of 4 students per hour for a total of 8 students per session. This very low number of participants is necessary to ensure maximal improvement.
